On May 14, the third day of the G7 Education Ministers’ Meeting, Minister Nagaoka exchanged views with Minister of Education and Merit of the Italian Republic H.E Prof. Giuseppe Valditara on Japan-Italy cooperation in the field of science and technology.

Prior to their meeting, Minister Nagaoka signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the fields of scientific and technological research between MEXT and the Ministry of Universities and Research of Italy in the presence of Minister Valditara.

At their meeting, Minister Valditara said that he would like to take the opportunity of the signing of the Memorandum to strengthen further Italy-Japan cooperative ties for science and technology.

In response, Minister Nagaoka thanked Minister Valditara for Italy’s cooperation in the holding of the G7 Education Ministers’ Meeting and for their meaningful discussion.

Through their discussion, both sides reaffirmed the importance of further enhancing Japan-Italy cooperation in various areas in the future.
