On Day 2 of the G7 Education Ministers’ Meeting in Toyama and Kanazawa held on Saturday, May 13, MEXT Minister NAGAOKA Keiko worked to strengthen relations with G7 nations and international organizations, holding bilateral meetings with France, Saarland/Germany, the United Kingdom, the OECD, and UNESCO.
In the discussions with France, Germany and the UK, Minister Nagaoka exchanged views on Generative Artificial Intelligence, the digitalization of school education and promoting foreign language education.
With the OECD, the Minister Nagaoka discussed the future framework of cooperation, and with UNESCO, the talks focused on Education for Sustainable Development(ESD).
Short exchanges were made with the U.S., Canada, and the EU.
Through the discussions, MEXT has reconfirmed its commitment to enhance relations with G7 nations and international organizations in the fields of education and culture.
